TRANSCON ENERGY MARKETING AND SUPPLY LTD

1.00. OVERVIEW

Transcon Energy Marketing and Supply Ltd. is an integrated energy company, an energy Trading, Marketing and Retailing company, active in the Downstream Sector of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and hopefully beyond in the near future.

It is involved in the bulk supply, distribution, storage, marketing, and retailing of and also trading in petroleum products: petrol, diesel, kerosene, low pour fuel oil, LPG and lubricants. The company commissioned its first company-built filling station in July 2002. It will also refine crude oil and process natural gas in the very near future. It is also involved in Renewable Energy.

The company is a member of Transcon Group and subscribes to the group’s aspirations and values. The Corporate Head office is located at 45, Norman Williams Street, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria with anticipated presence all over the continent of Africa.

2.00. BUSINESS ACTIVITIES

The company has nine departments:.

2.1. Oil Energy Department (Petroleum Energy)

This department is involved the Wholesale and Retail sales of Crude oil, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO),Kerosene (DPK, Jet A1), LPFO, HPFO etc. through four units:

                        –     Trading and Bunker Supply

                        –     Marketing  

                        –      Retail.

Trading and bunker Supply Unit:

The unit imports products (petroleum products) from refineries abroad directly or through brokers/dealers; such products are sold in bulk to other marketers on ship to ship transfer offshore or delivered to storage tank for Clients or for re-sale ex-depot.This company is set to trade in Crude oil, Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO), High Pour Fuel Oil (HPFO), other refined products and bitumen throughout the continent of Africa. Transcon has several business relationships with oil traders and refineries in Europe, Asia and North America.

The Company will take advantage of the recent review of the bunkering supply laws in Nigeria to go into the bunkering business. It shall supply bunkers to vessels both local and foreign.

Marketing Unit

This unit is involved in the sales of products ex-tank at depots from 33,000 litres to 1,000,000 litres by our Marketers and Depot representatives to individuals and companies for resale..

It is also involved in the supply/sales of AGO to industries, fuel stations and homes using trucks.

Retail Unit:

Transcon is licensed by the Department of Petroleum Resources to store and sell petroleum Products such as PMS, DPK and AGO from filling stations in several parts of the country. The company presently runs a filling station on a lease on lease from Transcon Properties and Investments Co. Ltd but has plans for development of more petrol filling stations across the country.

2.2. Gas Energy Department (Petroleum Energy)

This department has three units and is involved in the sale of LPG/LNG through three departments: Trading, Marketing and Retail 

Trading Unit:

This company is set to trade in LNG and LPG on wholesale basis both locally and internationally.

Marketing Unit

It is also involved in the supply/sales of LPG to industries, hotels, homes and LPG bottling plants using trucks. In the case of housing estates, supply is through pipelines.

Retail Unit:

This unit operates a Gas Plant in Sapele, Delta State which is about the best plant in the state and a piece of land for a gas plant in Ogun State. The vision of the company is to operate a gas plant in each of the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

2.3. Solar Energy Department

This department intends to manufacture solar panels or import same from a particular company in the Far East together with the other parts that constitute a solar power system for distribution and installations in the West African sub-region. It will also market long lasting bulbs without electricity.

2.4. Biomass Energy Department

This department will generate electricity from biodegradable domestic waste and sell to the Electricity Distribution companies for usage by consumers. The plant is to be sited in Lagos State and is expected to generate about 30 megawatts of electricity daily. Other streams of revenue include the revenue from domestic waste, sale of excess gas and sale of the bye-product; fertilizer.  

2.5. Lube Oils Department:

Transcon plans to market lubricants and greases of well-known manufacturers. The company has secured a piece of land in Koko, Delta State for a lube blending plant.

2.6. Terminalling Department: This department is involved in the storage of petroleum and gas (crude  oil, Diesel, petrol, kerosene, gas etc); a large expanse of land has been acquired for the development of a tank farm in Delta State.

2.7. Operations Department::

This division secures vessels, trucks and pipelines etc to move the company’s products (Crude oil, AGO, PMS, DPK etc) to various destinations such as tank-farms and industries.

2.8. Technical Department:

This department is involved in the installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery.

2.9. CORPORATE SERVICES DIVISION:

This division includes Finance and Accounts; Human Resource/Administration; Legal; Planning/Strategy; Health, Safety and Environment; Business development and Procurement departments. All purchases of petroleum products and spares are made through the procurement unit.
